Uhhh...waddahellizdat???

Hey, hey. !st let me ease your concerns, this isnt my 1st time behind a wrench. But, this is my 1st MR2. Anyway, after my roommate got the car out of the shop for the 3rd time, with the same oil leak, I convinced him to let me handle it. Promised him it would be fixed right. Discovered oil leaking from cam front seals, replaced seals. Oil from dist. Oil from filter housing. Oil from crank front seal. Basically she was spittin from every orifice she had. Finally got her back together after... what...18,20 straight hrs. of wrenchin, curssin, sweatin, cryin. Hit the diag. box, T-E1, and got what I prematurely thought was a light at the end of this oil soaked tunnel. Turned the key, she fired up, and basically stuttered her way back to sleep. Noticed what lookes to be a sensor of some sort hangin by it's wires. Both wires are green with red stripes. It is located on the battery side of the eng. compartment. I think it is a vacuum switch... but not sure. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Smile waddahellizdat?

Found out what that sensor does... operates the cooling fan on the passenger side rear vent. Trip out. now need to figure out how to place the air filter on that side. Would be sweet, huh?

The '87+ intake goes through the trunk, and over to the side vent. The stock -'86 intake has a pipe that goes over the battery and pulls fresh cold air from right behind the drivers floor. Both are good, but I ditched mine altogether.
