My 20v Swap progress (pics)...

Hi all! I am new to the board and thought I would post some pictures how my 20 swap is going. Everything seems to be going pretty smooth and I should have it running within the next couple of weeks. I have been talking to MR220v and he has been a lot of help. He has my wiring harness right now and should be done with it pretty soon. Anyway here are some pics...

My poor old blown up engine

My new SIlvertop Wooo Hoooo!

It needed a little cleaning up

The engine compartment needed help too

Engine compartment painted

The itb's were a corroded mess so they got a good cleaning and a fresh coat of aluminum paint.

THis is where I stand as of this morning. The engine portion is pretty much done. I am still waiting on a big drill bit I ordered on the internet to drill the C52 tranny to swap the selector shaft around. Pretty much when the tranny is done and I get the wiring harness back it should be ready to drop in and start.

150whp for the Blacktop (165 at the crank). Somewhat less for the silvertop.

120-125lb/ft for the torque

I don't think I can nominate myself. Right? Anyway, I guess If I am nominated, here are the mods. Obvious, 20v silvertop swap. Eibach springs, KYB struts, poly bushings and motor mounts, and other misc. things like the stereo system, etc. but no other performance items. Not a race car, just fun to drive!

Nice work.

When you painted the engine bay, did you do any prep work first?

Yes, the picture you see where the engine compartment is silver colored and partially red was when I was in the process. That whole thing was black when I started. Mostly with grease and grime. Eastwood sells a paint prep spray that is awesome but it is a little expensive at $10 per aerosol can. Now as far as removing absolutely everything out of the engine compartment, no. I took out as much as possible without the compartment painting becoming a multi-day project, and sprayed around what was left, i.e. the fuse box.
