Exclamation silvertop vs blacktop ecu

I came across this thread :
http://www.my-acoustic.com/Car/ECU/2...AP_problem.htm
Has anyone here experienced this or even heard of it before? I'm shopping for an engine right now and have been considering it a toss up between a silver and black. If this is a real problem I'm going to lean heavily to the silver...

I've never had this problem.

The article talks about this being due to the Blacktop's vvt being activated based on throttle position vs the silvertop activating based on rpms'. The only problem is that I have yet to see this phantom rpm activated silvertop ecu. They all seem to be throttle activated.

In any event, if it did happen, it looks like an easy fix.

The article suggests that over use of the vvt could be to blame. The only problem with that is that the injectors are engaged through the same mechanism, and those transistors have stayed perfectly reliable.

In any event, it looks like a very easy fix. I wonder if the author of that article would send me all of his blown blacktop ecu's?
