20V (ST) Parts... where?
Hello people! My MR2 SilverTop swap went smoothly but I've run into a problem... I need a distributor cap! Kind of hard to find a Levin's cap in the US unfortunetly, on the East Coast doubly so! So I'm asking around, as anyone run across the same problem? The Ignition Rotor is a dime a dozen, wires can me bought and used from several different cars, but the cap is apparently GOLD.
So I looked up some parts and asked some people and the best I could come up with is the following caps that match up with the distributor and ignition rotor as far as clearences go, but all of them have 2 instead of 3 mount holes to screw them in. Here is what I have (From Discount Auto Parts web site, verified with ROCK auto lookup side): 1991 Toyota Celica GT - 2.2L 5SFE ACDELCO US CAP E382 - 11-89 / 1991-1991 E356D - 1990-1991 1993 MR2 2.0 Turbo 3SGTE ACDELCO CAP E395C - 1991-1993 STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS JH-196 - 1993-1995 I think there was a few more that fit the bill and I asked MR220V and he said he was able to modify one of these so let me know what you guys have done or suggest! And yes, I will order one from Toyota and hopefully get it within the next ... YEAR. *SIGH* |

Here is the part number for the distributor cap:
19101-16010 I ran the number on one of these toyota parts sites, and they had a listing, so it looks like something you can just order. Call Lithia Toyota, they should have it. 800-888-6305 |

awesome
Ok awesome, I found that the MR2 second gen wires work well, the distributor cap I found in stock at Toyota of Roswell (at their warehouse) but its expensive !! $50. Ignition rotor is a dime a dozen.
Sweetness! I also found out what my problem was with a skipping #2 cyl. I'll put it in my other post! |
