20v questions
Okay, I know this question has hit the board a few hundred times over, but I'd rather just ask it again to get some more straight-forward answers.
My 4A-GELC has enough miles on it, it's getting time to trash it. I was mainly looking to move up to a 4A-GE 20v, but since it's a JDM motor, I'm worried about the availability of consumable parts and, of course, how well it will mate to an American market AW11. Also, what are the key differences in the black topped and silver topped engines? Is there an easier swap to go with (preferably maintaining an NA engine?) Anything else I should know or plan to do? Thanks! |

Everything you asked can be answered in search pretty straight forward
![]() I understand that the 20v aftermarket has been improving more and more each year, and the swap into a USDM AW11 is considered a moderately difficult swap AFAIK.mr220v sells plug and play wiring harnesses for the swap and has great feedback, If you werent set on staying NA I hear that the 4AGZE is the simplest swap for AW11 owners to diy. I too have asked questions that have been asked over and over ....but this one can really be solved searching 3 or 4 20v swap threads. Good Luck. |

Okay, so I guess it was all already here.
About the 4agze, is there aleady a good write-up on it? Will it require any other updating, I know that the GT used weaker half-shafts, will these hold up to the extra power and are there any other parts that might not hold-up? Finally, is there a good place to buy these besides eBay? I checked into it a little before, and found decent prices from www.royaljapanesemotors.com and www.royaljapanimports.com but why repeat research if someone else has already done it. Post-finally, any idea how long a well-organized swap would take? Thanks! |
