4A-GE MK1 Engine MAP sensor and such

I am eternally frustrated by the regional difference in stats on the 4AGE- 112hp US. 130hp JP. I know the only differences are supposedly the MAP vs. AFM and lack of EGR system. As EGR supposedly doesn't affect power very much, it comes down to MAP sensor. Would changing to a MAP sensor be worth the nearly 20hp difference between the US and JP engines? I'm not looking to build a superpower engine, just would like to bring a little bit more power out.

i dont know about in the US but in japan they run high octane fuel and run a high output tune( everything is fgures over there).
