Oil leak in line btwn filter & cooler - Help!?!
I've developed a nasty oil leak somewhere between the bottom of the distributor & the top of the freon compressor. I think it likely is the oil line that runs up from the bottom of the oil filter (hard line) then (hose) down to the oil cooler. But I can't see it to verify that is where it is leaking.
It looks like a real bugger to change that line -- does anybody have any hints on how to reach this line to replace? Do I have to remove the exh manifold? ...or the freon compressor? Help!!!! (4A-GE engine, 185,000 miles) |

Thanks, John. I ended up pulling the distributor, and could get to the top fitting that way (required a mirror to see the clamp). I went for the OEM part on the upper hose, since it gets pretty friendly with the exhaust on its way to the filter and the OEM part has all those nice heat wraps. Hope to have it running tonight!
