i'm looking to change my auto to a manual trans. '86 MR2 MK1

so i just obtained my first car an '86 MR2 MK1 auto. and i'm looking into exchanging the auto for a manual 5 speed. but the problem is that i don't know how much it'll cost.

your probably better off selling it and buying a 5 speed. i know Mk1's can be hard to come by but it would probably be easier and cheaper to just get one that is already how you want it... around here they usually come up from time to time for less than $1500 in decent condition; i got mine for $400 and all it needed was a fuel pump. thats a hell of a lot easier than swapping to manny

the swap is not as hard as people play it out to be. all you need is a doner 5 spd car. look this over and let me know what you think.

well if you really want to go through with it more power to you, but make sure you research it completely... depending on what condition your car is in it might be worth while, but if it isnt cherry or close to it i still say your better off replacing the car. otherwise you might end up putting more money into the swap than you bought the car for.

all you really need to buy extra is a clutch and fluids. not that big of a deal.
