I can't think of any reason a 16v one wouldn't work. The block and crank would have the same clearance dimensions. The crank is perhaps balanced better and a little lighter, but that's all I can think of.

As for the filter, do a quick search here and you'll see it's the same as the other 7-rib 16v.

The 16v pan doesn't fit. Don't know about the 4afe and 7afe pans though.

That surprises me, but I don't really have anything to compare them with... Thanks for the correction.

You could try eBay. There are a few guys on there parting the 20V's out. I've never personally seen an oil pan, but if you find someone selling a lot of 20V parts, they very well may have one. And the oil filter is the same as a 7-rib, like silverfire said.

It can and has been done. The norwood mk2 20v actually holds the land speed record for 1.5L FI motors. Just over 200mph.

A 20v into a mk2 is not a practical swap. It may be a better head design than the 5sfe, but it also has 25% less displacement.

The best NA 4cyl motors for the mk2 are the 3sge's. 165hp for a gen2 3sge to 200hp for the beams. Cost wise, at this point you can buy a 180hp gen3 3sge as cheap or cheaper than you can buy a 20v. If you don't mind a more difficult swap (potentially a lot more), you can go with a v6.
