need help with o2 sensor eliminator
have a 88 supercharged mr2 that i have fully restored and just bought a complete high performance exhaust for it.has rare TRD header, no catalyst, new thrush mini turbo muffler. have not installed it yet. thinking that since it has no cadalytic converter that after it is hooked up that the check engine light will probably come on. i am told by toyota that i can get a "o2 sensor eliminator"which will keep the engine light from coming on. can anyone lead me to somewhere that may sell these. i would greatly appreciate it.

You can get o2 emmulators on ebay. They are mainly for replacing rear o2 sensors on obd2 systems.
In your case, this won't be needed. 1. All an o2 emmulator will do is send the ecu incorrect fuel mixture signals. 2. A front o2 will read properly without a cat. 3. Even if you disconnected the o2, it won't cause the CEL to come on. It would just hurt your fuel economy and give a stored code 21. |
