I've thought about asking that before, but did not want to be the one. Now that someone has, surely someone has at least tried this in their quest for cheap power.
If so, out of curiosity, how much of an increase in hp did you gain, and do you have any pics? |

Its an interesting concept but its basically the same thing as those bootleg electric superchargers that came out a few years ago...Actually setups using "leaf blowers" are actually sold as universal units with a switch so you can have blower going whenever the switch is flipped...like i said its ghetto as hell but yet many have come up with the idea and have actually created and sold it as a kit. Stupid **** imo

On a less ghetto note, I read about something were a fellow rigged a small electric motor to sort of pre-spool a turbo as a way to reduce lag...again, not much of an issue for a close-to-stock '2, but looked interesting anyway.
::edit:: don't ask for references, it's been a long time and it was a magazine of some type. |

all you have to do is think about it...if you just run the power cord into the drivers area and plug it into an electrical outlet and work out some plumbin it would work...theoretically you wouldnt even have to hook up an intercooler because its not running off the hot exhaust gasses and you arnt compressing any air so you wouldnt have excess heat. It's simple but still dumb because the ECU wouldnt know how to react to the incoming air...it will f*ck up pretty quickly..plus you will also f*ck up the alternator sucking up all that juice just to run the damn thing

neat but they had to add NAWS (as they called it :P) in order to get any nice increase.
