Inadvertantly left Ignition on all day-Mark1
Trying to repair my 2 sc cars at once today and left the key in the on position all day!@^&* and didn't notice all the red dash lights till dark when I crawled out from under the car.
Any idea what parts I need to replace as the manual says 10 minutes max for this kind of bonehead stunt? |

There is an off chance you have damaged the coil, igniter, distributor pickups, and/or ECU. Does the car actually start and run OK?

it'll just load the hell out of the coil and burn it out.. its an off chance though..

Unbelieveably, the car started without any problems the next morning!
Thank the Lord. Coil still meet the specs with the ohmeter before the startup even. Kinda makes me wonder tho, why didn't I have problems per the warning in the Service Manual? I was so upset when I saw the ignition on all day that I didn't have the courage to even start it last night. I wonder,, if the ignition componets cooled overnight has anything to do with it. That is, if I had started it last night what would have happened.?? Thanks for your interest and input guys. |
