4AGE Head+GZE Block+T50 RWD Trans. What is needed?
Just as the title says. I have a good used JDM GZE block that I would like to transplant in my AE86 for a Turbo conversion. I was thinking I would have the head built, Use the stock GZE cams (then sell the gze head) and mount it to the GZE block (it was a JDM 30k pull out so no need to rebuild). Not planning to make tons of power, just enough to kick out the rear if you get my drift. (oh yes, the pun WAS intended)
I'v searched and searched and searched here and Club4ag and can't find any info on this being done. Seems most people either just use the gze internals in the ge block. Or they just transplant the entire thing. I really just don't want to deal with the electrical nightmare plus the turbo kit all just to make 60ish more HP. Surely someone can help me here.. |

The GZE head and the GE heads are the same except for the cams and if you have a set of early NA cams use those instead, those have a little more lift than the GZE cams. If you're having the head built get oversized valved, OEM springs and polish the exhaust side of the head, that will keep temps down and increase exhaust gas velocity.

Ok so basically just keep the BT head and cams? Its an original blue top that came in the AE86. So I can just bolt it up to the gze block? I just wasn't sure if there were any clearance issues with the GZE pistons and the GE head. Also, I would assume to use the flywheel and pressure plate/clutch from the GE block.
Will all my accessories bolt on to the gze block? I don't have P/S or A/C, just the Alt. |
