Mark1 low oil pressure? don't freak, Bro..

Wife's been drivin' my street prep'ed S/C mr2 since her Civic was distroyed by a Huge Chevy Suburban (which she walked away from BTW).

She rolled in the driveway Sunday and said "the oil presure is way low so I came home".(she's my pit crew crew chief when we race SCCA TT)

I rolled under the car and disconnected the oil pressure sender greased it heavy with electrical sillicone di-electric goo and re-connected the harness to the sender unit.

Presto chango, the reading was back to normal!!!!

I did all of this while the Miami Dolphins were at half-time and the Fish ended up kicking butt, and beat the Denver Broncos , who could ask for more?

Sincerely,

1 very Hard drivein' Florida dude.

I'm going to try that cause my readings seem abnormal but as long as it isn't below quarter under throttle I don't worry to much, I had it on the L under full load on one car once and before I had time to even lift off the gas I heard a rod knocking.

I have also head a intermittent issue. I was freckling out. there seams to be a small extension of the engine harness to make it all the way to the oil sender. on the non sender side of the extension there is a plug my failure was at the plug. the wire was frayed.

I cut the plug out and soldered in a wire with heat shrink tube then used a female connected to attach to the oil sender.

hope that helps someone reading
