IT RUNS!!!!! (again)

After solving many many issues, and having tremendous help from everyone on this forum I have completed my swap. I still lack the 02 sensor, and I need to time it. But I have successfully put over 100 miles on my Blacktop motor with absolutely no issues. No overheating, no dying, nothing. This was my first engine install of any kind where I did any work myself. On top of that my MR2 (s) did not have motors in them, and have never run. if I can do it, absolutely anyone can. Pictures coming soon when I finish moving some interior.

BTW a few questions...

What should my idle set at. I don't produce real power until about 3k, it dies off around 7-7.5k. is this normal. also, what degree should I set my timing?

Now all you need to do is part that ST.

set timing to 12 degrees. Not sure why you're weak under 3k?

could be the timing, i would get that all worked out before worrying too much about the lack of power below 3

Looks like my power issues are due to the custom flange I had made for my header. it is leaking a bunch. Car has been timed, and o2 sensor is in. it is running a bit better, but I'm guessing at only 85-90%. I'm loosing a larger ammount of back pressure because that it isn't sealed. I STRONGLY SUGGEST IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR HEADER THAT YOU PURCHASE A CORRECT ONE INSTEAD OF HAVING A SHADETREE VERSION FABBED. I believe sided 2 side racing sells a nice quality one. My blacktop came with one, so i'm going to have it put on friday. If everything goes well I will have that ST ready to part out next weekend. I'm just waiting until everything is good. I put another 400 miles on the car today, threw my map sensor code. However last night I had to pull the battery for over an hour and did not properly reset my ecu once I plugged the battery back in. More on that tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning i'm having new shocks put in. So far... So good.

Good job Kaz, puff out your chest, strut around the car a time or two! Then flog that Black Top when no one is looking, watch out though the grin has a tendency to stick.

well one thing is, it is a BT... no low end torque like the ST with the tvis type setup deal or vvt whatever it is called... BTs are good higher up. dunno why you are dropping off around 7.5ish you should go to well past 8.5-9
