Can someone post a pic of a bt map sensor

i think i have the wrong map, or its not plugged in right or something. can someone please post a pic of a 20v map sensor and what the plug looks like? does it just go into 1 vaccum hose... and where does that hose go? I'm using a 5sfe sensor and its throwing a code... as far as I know I just had to plug it in. any conversion needed? any ideas on solving this code?

A 5sfe sensor should be compatible. Clear your codes and see if the code remains.

BTW, if the CEL isn't coming on, chances are that the map is currently functional.

Cel was comming on. has been since I setup the BT. however I was able to solve this today. as far as I know. I removed the vacuum line from the 1st throttlebody and capped it off. I uncapped the extra vacuum hose point by my FPR. (I found this fix on a VW forum by the way) the car idles great now, doesn't bog down at low rpms, and so far no code. so.. if you can explain HOW this worked i'd love to know.

Extra vacuum port by the FPR? That actually sounds like the stock port the map is supposed to be plugged into.

It's possible the port you had it plugged into wasn't getting vacuum. That would do it for sure....and would cause the car to run like hell.

Now that you have it hooked up and getting a valid vacuum reading, there should be a very noticeable change in how the car runs.

indeed there is. I still have the fuel problem (15mpg) I think i've narrowed it down to probably the FPR but i'm not sure yet. It drives great now... really does. it feels like a 140hp crx. That seems about right. The motor sings, doesnt bog below 3k, and transfers between gears like a brand new car. It feels like a sports car now.

I think you'll find that the 15mpg problem is solved with using the correct port. I think you'll be a little happier with your car now.
