Removing ac pump
I really dont want to use the ac when I do my swap. If I remove it does anyone know what belt I would have to use? Or do I have to leave it on and have that extra weight? I'm getting closer to doing the swap and I want to have this thing ready to drop right in. I will also be sending my wiring harness out soon to get it wired up. Any suggestions to help me out?

You can remove it, after you do use string or some sort of strap to make a "belt" and take it to a place that sells belts or an auto store, belt specialists can measure this accurately but you just really need a large selection you can pick through until one of the right length an teeth comes up. Most stores will let you take it back if it is not quite the right length.
Make a note somewhere on the correct length once you find it and write it somewhere safe, I have a sheet in my frunk glued to one side that has things like this written on it. |

Yeah. I work at a parts store so I'll get the goodyear number. I need a warmer day cause it's cold working on the engine in the shed out back.

Write that dimension on paper go to the parts store. Buy some gum and come home. The AC is the only thing on that belt. The water and alt are on the other belt. Remove the compressor, the belt, the bracket, the lines, the condensor, the box under the dash has some ac parts as well. Leave the controls unless you can figure out how to take just the AC controls off. (heat) |
