the pulleybro sc12 ones uses 3pk (3rib) belts, where as the original uses 5pk(5rib) belt, you lost a lot of surface area like that, and with the original belt barely have enough grip without being overtightened and killing the bearings on either the sc or idler, I don't recommend them.

I paid $522. for an SC 12 Clutch/Pulley set from Toyota. It is a part, in retrospect that I probably didn't need to replace. For weeks after buying that part . . . a narrow column of black smoke trailed my backside where ever I went. Yeah, I also had a burning sensation back there too come to think of it.
Don't replace your clutch pulley if its just worn some. Replace it if its broken. |

The Pulleybros unit is as HoLun described, and uses only a 3pk belt because their manufacturer screwed up the alignment of the ribs and also left off 1 pulley rib. They have decided to sell them this way anyway. Basically they seem to have done all of the SC14 pulleys correctly, but felt that SC12 owners were worth screwing over. Only a 3 rib or smaller belt can be used and it must be aligned with the belt on the back portion of the crank pulley and on the front portion of the sc pulley. This shows that the pulley could easily have been produced correctly (by extending the front portion of the pulley) and does not need to impinge upon the sc side of the equation. Using their 3pk belt you’d just be asking for the belt to jump ribs constantly. I bought one with the intentions of having a shop build me one, with correctly aligned and proper number of ribs, based off the Pulleybro model, so that I can still use the rest of their assembly. Unfortunately, I have no funds for doing that at the moment so it may take some time yet.
