yes i assumed there are 4 per cyl if its a 16v.... obviously the 20v would have 5... i was talking about 6 valver per cyl... making a 24v 4cyl... that i have never seen. only 24v ive ever seen is a v6

Probably as much if not more to swap out the internals of the 4agze. Pistons, rods, and new rings, gaskets, intercooler, supercharger, underdrive pully while your at it. There's probably more that I'm not aware of.

86 mr2- 4agze swap, newcomer.

I have an 86 Mr2 and i would like to do a 4agze swap, could someone give me a step by step process of this swap? and is this a good project for someone who is 16 and in all the auto shop classes that he can be in? i'd love the feedback, thank you.

Yeah...

I'm looking to do a swap, too... Keeping the N/A tranny. I need to know what all I need for the swap. A bulleted list of as much as you can think would help and would be much appreciated.

I know I need the 4AGZE ECU and wiring harness. And I know that I need the 4AGZE engine lid. What else do I need for this swap?

Thanks in advance.

I think owning an aw11 is enough for a 16 year old.... get used to the car and learn how to drive it before you arbitrarily throw power at it.

this comes off wrong, but I'm serious..... I've spanked gze and 20V cars in my wifes aw11 when the motor was smoking oil and compression was low.... the biggest problem with aw11's is that a huge number of owners are overly confident in driving them an under-educated in actually how to do it. (and although I can drive them well, I still have a lot to learn myself).

so, the answer is that I don't think that it's a good idea for you to spend your time in shop class trying to convert the car to a 4agze powered mr2... learn the car and read up on the various swaps then decide which is best for your driving needs. There are tons of people who have posted swap successes and results....

"Need" is all determined by your abilities.

If you're not comfortable with rewiring then you will need an 87-89 chasis, and just about a complete parts aw16 (supercharged car).

my (now) s/c car.... stock n/a engine lid, uses the JDM top mount IC, moved the battery, and I megasquirted it 5 years ago because I didn't want to pay the outrageous price for an uncut harness.
