with time and money,(and comprimising cosmetics) just about any engine can fit in any car. this swap is far out of left field and no one's done it. that being said being the first to pull it off may be rewarding. i like thinking outside of the box. just dun expect an easy road on this one. gl on your project!

![]() If you are completely and absolutely serious about the swap you should pull wiring diagrams up and join a forum where they are familiar with the motor your going to swap and ask a million questions about everything, axles, gearbox, wiring, fuel pump, basic power figures and what to expect from the motor reliability wise and what you could change that fails while you have it out. You should know a lot about what your dealing with before thinking about touching it. Oh yeah and measure twice and cut once ![]() |

I looked into the SHO swap awhile back. Mostly because I had picked up a motor for 150, i did a couple test fits (in the mk2) it's huge heavy motor. after considering adapter plates needed to work with the mr2 trans (since the ford trans is well...crap) and etc I decided to pass and have since just been sticking with a good ol 3s.
Toyota V6s are so much easier, lighter, can put out similar power, require no adapter plate. |
