What do these wires do?
I'm finally getting around to finishing my 20v Blacktop swap, and I have a few wires left that don't have a home.
![]() No idea what those three are for... ![]() I'm guessing those two are for the (non-existant) air conditioning. I just finished installing the alternator, and hooked up the battery. It cranks but doesn't start. I'm gonna do some diagnosis later on and see if it's a spark or a fuel issue. One other point of interest: the fuel in the tank is, I assume, 87 octane, and has just over a half tank. Is it safe to run the engine on that, at low rpm, until it runs out so I can put some premium in, or should I siphon the fuel? Or what about just filling the rest with 94 octane or race fuel? |

I'm going to do the BT swap also.
The fuel tank has a plug at the bottom that you can drain the gas out of, no need to siphon. |

The 2 plugs in the bottom photo are the AC (single pin), and the engine bay fan (double pin).
The green one in the top photo goes unused. The two white ones I don't recognize. Perhaps cruise control if they are coming from behind the battery support. In any event, just make sure you have a good tranny to chassis ground, and it looks like you're set. |

Ah yes, cruise control makes sense. I'll check the grounds this afternoon.
Thanks for the quick reply and knowledgeable answer. ![]() |

That involves ripping off the underbody panels again, which all the bolts snapped off of, and I currently have meticulously zip-tied in place. Plus, the plug itself tends to rust out, and I don't want to break it off and end up having to replace the fuel tank.

Good to know. I saw it in the manual but I have yet to drain mine. I will be doing that in the next couple of weeks.

Don't bother anyway because the 86 didn't come with a drain plug on the gas tank. It took me a long time to syphon out a full tank.![]() |

I've decided I'll run it at low load/low rpm through the rest of the tank of 87 octane. Maybe I'll throw in a gallon or two of 94 octane.

Raptor you can disconnect the fuel line at the injector rail and jumper the fuel pump then just pump the tank dry.
