Guys it might handle like a whale and be the biggest POS to drive ever, i am very real about stuff like that, i also built the suspension it uses as well, hand made the shocker tubes and coilover suspension...

All very experimental stuff, to get this all handling right straight off the first attempt will be nothing short of a miracle so i doubt she will be ready for the TG test track just yet

Also my brakes... again very experimental, these are modified BMW 330D rotors (rusty i know) ,which are 325mm diam and porsche 996 four pot radial mount calipers.

At the rear i am using 323mm mazda RX8 front rotors with mk2 turbo calipers, the master cylinder is also a mk2 turbo 15/16th's bore one and also a bias valve fitted.

So plenty of stopping power there, but god only knows how well (or badly) this thing will actually drive!

The front and back bumpers are from the Styleauto kit, but the rear has had the centre fins chopped out on my car, i actually own the master moulds for these bumpers as well as the mould for the Thomas Designs engine lid of which there are only 15 worldwide.

Out of curiosity, do they still sell that front and rear bumper. I know that site was in German:
Whlen Sie den Hersteller
So it gets tranlated a bit, but I saw a year of 2003 on there and it does look very old. If not, how the heck do I make me some molds. Man, I told you guys this is habit forming and I'm sick as heck, coming down with a cold. My throat hurts like hell and I need to do some serious studying before friday...ahhhh.

I think they do? but i heard bad reports about them, i can supply them but shipping them anywhere is almost impossible for me with them being so bulky and fragile. So i have had to limit sales to collection within the UK only sadly.

I hear you Paul. I know what you mean about the shipping. It's tough getting things locally without having them all bang up not mention from another side of the world. Well, you did a nice job on them. I can't wait to see what happens with your new monster creation.

I'm not so sure we should go for top gear. If they don't like it, pianos might misteriously start dropping on MR2s.

I think the one of a kind brake system will definitely need a proportioner valve. To adjust the braking force frontwards or backwards.

The weight distribution of the Wood's car looks good visually. It should be at least as well balanced as a stock Mk I.

So with some 9 inch wide front tires, and rear tires closer to a foot wide, it should handle like those hoity toyty Eye-tallion Uber Cars like the Ferrari.

Episode 4 of Season 7 (the current season) of Top Gear has the boys buying old Italian supercars from the 70's for around 20 grand. They bought a Maserati, Ferrari, and Lambo. The most powerful car was 225 HP brand new. They were all dynoed and shown to be running substantially below their advertised HP.

And then a light bulb turned on in my head. And I realized my Mk I could easily have outrun the Top Gear specimens. And probably outrun them new off the showroom floor too!

Top Gear has a quality completely absent in every American automotive interest show . . . . .. . CLASS!

TG is on a intellectual plane miles beyond and above any US auto show. American car shows are flawed by ebonics, twinkle toes (in the case of Car Crazy), fat stupid slobs (whips), sociopathic shop owners (Jesse James), and other empty headed blowhards.

American car shows are all about stupid, outdated, antiquated technologies like push rod, carburated V8's.

Every dumbass V8 gear head I run into .. . . . I try to educate the moron on how backwards his engine design is . . . . and fail because they are so stupid to begin with.

i'll agree with that jackstand queen....pimp my ride was the worst of the ebonics...i'm close enough to philly that I'm sick of hearing it all as it is...and then i'm like oh sweet a car show..."ey yo diz be x 2 da z exzibit...wut up mofo lets c dis hoopdie get rull"
and i'm like ok well i'm sure hes not on the whole time...and then they just do rediculous stuff to the cars....has anybody heard if the cars have driven more then a month or 2 with their untouched junker engines? i'm sure these people dont know how to take car of them

top gear amazes me...and its entertaining...i loved the tour bus races!

Top Gear doesn't have class- it's an automotive comedy.

What makes it fantastic, and American car programs horrible, is it's take on advertisements. Top Gear doesn't allow them. American car programs are drenched in the sweaty mucus of advertising filth.

Top Gear: "Honestly, I have seen more attractive gangrenous wounds than this. It is a munkfish among cars. It has the sex appeal of a camel, with gingivitis, and frankly, I would rather walk back to the studio than drive another yard in it. So I shall." *walks off camera*

Generic American car program: "The new Ford Mustang has crisp handling and a powerful V8 engine. This article brought to you by Meguier's Auto Polish- use Meguier's for the best finish you car can have! Order today!"

Top Gear is allowed to tell you the truth, even (especially) if it's an ugly one. American TV can't do that, because they have to please the sponsors.

I agree with you to a degree, but push rod V8's do have one massive advantage over quad cam V8's- size. A push rod V8 is so much smaller and lighter than an equal-displacement quad cam V8 that it makes the tiny efficiency increase completely pointless. There is something to be said for displacement. The only reasons most other countries produce such tiny engines, then try to get all they can out of them, is because a) They are taxed based on the size of their engine, or b) fuel costs are insane. The important thing is power density- how much power can you make for a given weight, reliably.

I'm gonna have to dissagree with you there. Top Gear did make an advertisement for Volkswagen. Bloody severed arms and all.
