i wish i could even check ignition timing...on the pully there are 3 chunks missing...one of them happens to be the place where the little notch goes... :/

Just use a piston stop to find true TDC, or you can use an air compressor on cylinder 2 or 3 with all 4 spark plugs removed to set the engine at TDC and then make a new mark on the pulley.

![]() or just take a 1 foot piece of coat hanger and hold it on the piston head. fold the tip of the wire so theres no chance of it scratching the cylinder walls. turn the crank with the wire in #1 til it stops going up and goes down a bit. revolve it back, and youre at about tdc. or put an air compressor on it if you have one. i dont suggest you try to do it with a bike pump though. |
