Yeah, also I've been wondering about the driveline. I need something that can handle the torque but I think I may have found something to overcome that.

Heres the gearbox, I'm just setting the preload on the diff

Axles, they need to have the cv ends put on them but I think the ones out of corolla fit straight on and will handle the power.

Wow, I guess you're really set on getting a better diff than the one that blew on you.

Yea, the s54 is not bad but the engine is a Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C and produces about 80,000bhp give or take a few thousand. I just wasn't sure if the diff would handle the extra power or not so to be sure to be sure. Also the s54 would have needed an adapter plate and new starter more positioning as well.

Did you get the 2008+ year model Sulzer 96 (blacktop)? They upped the power to 114,800 hp vs the old 109,000 hp for the earlier models FYI. Either way that diff you got should handle either engine's output fine, I would just be concerned about the gear ratios considering the 2008+ engine power peak is at 96 rpm.

I have heard you need to fabricate the RH side motor mount. (Apparently it almost lines up if you flip the old 4age one over.) This can be fixed by drilling a 5/8s inch whole about 1/8 inch on the back of the bracket. Of course make sure you use grade 8 hardware to hold that new engine in.

Oh, and I forgot to mention you might have to get a raised engine lid, you know like with a scoop on it. Just to allow a little bit more space for valve cover to not rub the engine lid.

No it's an earlier one that some guy had in his shed just sitting in the corner, I got it for a steal. It's has no rod knock and I checked the clearances on the rod/crank and there was only 1/2 inch so its like new.

Yeah that was exactly what I am going to do, I'm just going to use a hand held drill and a couple tack welds, should hold it like no other.

Yeah I have a supercharged lid so it will clear just fine. My next problem is fuel, I don't think the Walbro 255 will cut it so I'm going with quite a big pump. I'm also going to run bigger lines for it, the guy at the speed shop says it will drop straight into the tank and clip into the original holder which is sweet.
