Check the size pipe your local club or region endorses for cages otherwise you will get shafted when you turn up. If I remember right I'm running 38mm O/D with 2.5 wall thickness., not 100% All my cages are slightly different especially the RX7 totally different design because it is that scary to drive.

As for weight reduction strip the interior and remove all the sound deadening stuff stuck to the car by chipping it off if you haven't already. Remove all unneeded brackets and pipes I removed all that stuff from my underside. Race seats are really a must it was a night and day difference when I got mine so much more comfortable with the belts on and I sit a lot lower feels like a go cart on double dose of some new improved version of crack. If you want to get real pedantic like I did remove all uneeded wiring from the loom by unwrapping the loom and tracing them all. I also cut the strength ribbing off some of my body panels they flex about, squeak and bend easy but they do their job. My car is TOTALLY dedicated to the track though I trailer it there and back never sees the road......except when testing

You will find though the cage should stiffen the car and make up for weight gain that way. My racecar you can jack one corner and it will balance on the diagonal wheel

so, are you totally re-negotiating our deal then? you never replied to my PM which is why i ask you here. you didn't have the money to meet-up with me for the trade that you requested, but had the money to buy another project vehicle?
