AC Amp in retro car (SC)

Here's a pin replacement chart for any who has added a SC engine (& compressor) to their car without the benefit of changing the cabin harness (some fun that is?)

As far I can determine you'd have to run 2 wires from the SC ac amp to the parts shown to make that SC ac amp work;
#1 pin to the ac sensor on the bottom of the compressor.
#3 pin to the ac lamp in the temp sensor (or the wire wire there)

SC Connector 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13
NA Connector - 8 - 5 6 13 11 2 1 7 9 12 10

If anyone out there has used their NA ac amp with a SC engine perhaps you'd like to chime in?

Perhaps also, if you've used your NA compressor on a SC engine you like to tell us about that as well?

You're saying this is what you have to do to get that little green SC light to come on in your gauge cluster?

Hey Smokey

NO !

Mainly Smokey, this is how to get air conditioning functioning out of the SC 4a-gze engine w the SC comprerssor which has a rotational sensor located in the bottom. You change the pins in the connector to match these locations, and obtain a SC (only) AC Amplifyer. (simplified explanation)

This SC (only) Amplifyer will flash the light in the 87-89 Temperature Control Assembly if the system is malfunctioning in any way.

I do have a archived "write up" of the procedure to troubleshoot the "little green light" you mentioned, if you PM me I'd be willing to pass this along.

So the super easy way is to use the NA AC amplifier and GZE compressor. The AC amp doesn't need the the rpm sensor at all. Just hook up the clutch wire and the AC idle up. 86 GZE

The "Catch 22" here is that the diameter of the SC clutch is larger (see picture) which mean it spins slower than the NA clutch. Not a big deal deal if you have a "leadfoot" (LOL!!)
