boost
Hi guys.I bought my car with a 4agte motor. The turbo used to be a toyota ct20.Replaced it with a t3/t4(not a ball bearing one).My problem is it only starts boosting at about 4500 rpms and dies at about 6500rpms.What is wrong?I'm boosting 1.0 bar.Gonna change my exhaust from 51mm to 63mm.Maybe that will help. What amount of power at 1 bar boost is fair?

Some more information would help you get a better response, like mods and whatnot.

I bought the car with turbo conversion already on.We can see that head was flowed, valves cut,4agze pistons and crank, cams with very high lift.Very sharp cam lobes.Has aftermarket management system,44mm extractors,51mm freeflow exhaust(will change to 63mm).Toyota ct20 turbo replaced by non ballbearing t3/t4 garret turbo.Bigger intercooler.
With toyota turbo started boost at 3500rpms.Maybe cam timing was wrong when we added the t3/t4(we did replace headgasket a week earlier). Some people say exhaust housing of turbo is to big,but the other 4agte cars all have full boost at 4500rpms with their t3/t4 turbos. |

2.5" is a good size for a turbo 4ag engine.
what are the a/r's of the exhaust and compressor? (should be stamped on or in the housings). |
