MK1 UNDERSEAT SUB-WOOFER QUESTIONS...

The under-seat OEM sub-woofer is toasted. I have a 6" Bose sub-woofer sitting on the shelf, which is, of course, too big for the under-seat OEM sub-woofer enclosure. Would it be best to build a box and mount the 6" Bose behind one of the seats or would I be better off replacing the OEM 3.5" sub-woofer or doing both or ...?

Anybody know what the purpose of all the OEM electronics are in the under-seat sub-woofer speaker box?

it's been awhile since i looked at that stuff, but i believe it's a small amplifier. i pulled all that stuff out long ago. that small 'subwoofer' is of no real audio quality, so aftermarket would be the way to go if you are looking for audio.
