The jdm rear bumper has a wider space for the license plate.

The 97 - 99 Toyota Mr2's in Japan took out the side blinker lights and moved them to the rear of the fender while replacing that piece with a basic side molding to match the rest of the side molding.

97+ Have Speed Flaps (Would This Be Considered Body?). Not A Big Difference Though - You Can Buy Them And Install Them On A USDM Body.

The rear bumper is also cutout where the license plate goes, whereas the USDM one is closed.

Will everything from a 96 jdm front end fit properly on a 91 front end?

yes.

you should also be prepared as the jdm body is light weight and thus allow you to have quicker acceleration. you must learn to control this new found power as you could rip through the space-time continewum and travel through time.

But there's no reason why the 96 shouldn't fit. Toyota didn't change THAT much on the SW20...
