side mirror replacement?

I have a driverside mirror what is as loose as paris hilton, litterally if i drive faster than 45-50mph it starts to fold in a little, you can push it around very easliy, i don't want to spend a bunch on replacing them so im either going to take it off and see if can be tightened (which i dunno if it can) or buy some cheap ebay F1 style mirrors that are light and funtional. whatcha guys think? or course i wouldn't wire the LED's, i'm going to smoke the led plastic to make it look like solid Black.

You get what you pay for in those F1 mirrors. They have a wavy mirror and cheap construction. What else can you expect for the price of a large pizza?

Geez, I think the best feature of those mirrors would be the extra visibility offered by the LEDs. I'm with Pete though, if you buy cheap parts, chances are high you'll get cheap performance.

if my brother moves to japan next month as planned, i guess that won't be a problem, he can send me used/new jdm stuff 24/7 and now i work at a toyota stealership i get the best of both worlds

If your mirror is loose, you can tighten the screw underneath it so it will be firm again. Have you tried that?

I believe there is a screw on the underneath side of the mirror that can be tightened, but it didn't work for me. I finishing my side mirror project today, should have pics up later.

yea its the fold in mirror, but the screw is directly under the part that folds, just walk up to your car and look at the bottom side of the mirror. i'll take a pic of that too for you to see.

yes, they needed to be modified, and the area that they connect too, with a drill and a drimel tool it took me a few hours but i finished the passenger side and about to finish the driver side in like 30 minutes.

What is you disassemble the mirror, fill the screw hole with jbweld, then put it back together the next day?

I had cheap ass aftermarket mirror on my 2 when i bought it with stripped screw holes that held it to the car... This made it nice and tight so it would pass inspection. I have since dumped those mirrors.
