haha, thanks. although i used to be a lot closer when i was in okinawa. If it comes down to it and i have to replace my dash due to age and wear i would probably consider dumping money on it. A full carbon dash....thats gotta look pretty sweet.

Would be a nice weight saver for some hardc-core racer, but 1400 is quite a lot of money. Maybe for half that I would consider lol.

Wouldn't a hardcore racer just go dash-less and spend the money elsewhere?

1,400 + labor to build a shipping box (crazy)+ plus freaight + money to drop it off at your house(even more crazy)..... did they bump there head or something WTF??? You would think labor is included with the price and shipping is one price not 2. Oh we're going to charge you to drive it to your house and then charge you to take it off our truck. Oh yeah why dont you just charge me to set the box on the ground when you pull it off your truck while ur at it! They sound liek the freaking government whith the death tax. Oh we're going to taxyou for dying.Anyone who buys this is really stupid or just has to much money.

I have a madpsi front lip... The quality is really, really good. Extremely lightweight, fits perfect. It cost way too much money though. I couldn't imagine trying to get a dash from Pouya... the lip took 2 years!

Also, it took less than a month before I hit road debris and broke it. Now my pure carbon fiber lip is held togeather with duct tape

For many racing series, a dash is required. Usually you're better off just using a sheet of aluminum, but a CF replacement shows how badass you are, lol.

We have made one-piece complete dash replacements for other cars before. The typical client that bought this piece wanted a unique and aesthetically beautiful piece for their car with the added benefit of helping with weight reduction. While having no dash helps with weight reduction, it is uniquely ghetto, not aesthetically beautiful, and a dash is required for some forms of racing. Some MR2 owners heard about the work done and wanted me to make it for the MR2. I thought there wouldn't be enough MR2 owners buying the piece to cover the cost of the project, but still offered to make it as a low production/one-off piece if anyone was seriously interested in the dash. As I expected, lots of MR2 owners wanted the piece, but understandably it fell outside their budget.

The fact that the one-piece complete dash replacement is out of your budget doesn't mean it is overpriced. I think those of you that think it is overpriced do not appreciate the cost of (1) the $100 per hour labor of the body shop I use to make my high quality bespoke plugs; (2) the complex mold needed to make this piece; (3) the labor rate of a great facility with the skills to make the dash at all (let alone make it well); (4) the amount of carbon fiber that needs to be used; (5) the fact that it is a low production, if not one-off, item; and (6) shipping charges for such a large piece between all these different facilities.

Dude shipping is one thing but to charge labor for packaging and the box is another. For that price it should all be included. I had a carbonfiber trunk shipped to me for 480$ Now thats not quit as big as a dash but its close to the size of space it takes up and is 3 times as cheap as ur dash. They didnt try and add on surcgarges like boxing it up and all these extra shipping fees. I mean how the hell you going to charge someone to ship it to there house and then charge them again to drop it off???? WTF dude? I understand a one off price but for all that ur getting is a one off azz rape if you ask me

^ Have you ever seen an MR2 dash that had been removed from the car? I have one sitting in my room right now, and I can vouch for the fact that it's a very complicated part. A hood or trunk lid is quite simple by comparison. Carbon fiber is not cheap nor is it easy to work with. A quality mold is expensive, and a fairly high percentage of units made come out with defects, ruining the whole piece, especially if you care about quality. Frankly, the price he's charging, while expensive, is not unreasonable for the size, complexity, quality, and low manufacturing volume. This is not being marketed to Joe-Blow ricer, it's being marketed towards the high end user that has lots of money to sink into his car, and cares about doing it right.

Nobody is forcing you to buy his product, so if you feel it is unfairly priced, either make your own version to compete with his for less money, or simply don't buy it.

Well kind sir I wasnt really talking about the price it self. I was talking about all the little sir charges he adds on to that big price tag for rediculous things like the box that it comes in. The actual labor for making the box ect ect. I've never bought something where they charge you for a freaking box that it comes in or the labor for making it. And when I was refurring to the carbon fiber trunk I bought, I was just talking about the amount of space it takes up on a freight truck AND the "special" box that was needed to ship it in. So no I think 1400$ for a carbon fiber dash is a pretty decent deal. Again its all the other stuff he tacks on that I think is just rediculous

I wouldnt question the price so much, like he says its not a mass produced item, i just think its a bit crazy not to at least show a picture of a carbon fiber dash so you can get an idea of the workmanship. I could tell you that i can build you a dash for $1400 but trust me you wouldnt want it, but you wouldnt know until i you got the product. Please post a pic of a previously done dash, just so we can see what they look like, not necessarily an mr2 dash, just any dash
