Plumley modded wing
Could someone please post the how-to on the Plumley spoiler mod for the mki? It would appear it's only on the "other" board, which I don't have access to.

it's not hard raptor. cut out the center piece. take out the studs from the rear portion of the spoiler. move the spoiler back one hole on the trunk lid and mark where the center studs will penetrate into the trunk lid. drill holes into truck lid where center holes will go. mount wing with the rear 4 or so inches hanging off of the rear of the trunk lid. mark where the trunklid top meets with the bottom of the wing. mark a diagonal line from the top/side corner of the trunk lid to the rear tip of the wing, cut that line out, and fiberglass/foam/hairspray in the voids. it's really a pretty easy job, but you just have to use the correct materials to make it look right. the first time i tried it, i used corrogated cardboard for reinforcement under the FG, and within a few weeks, it was all messed up.
if you'd like further details on the process, PM or email me, i'll help you out. toymdngn @ gmail.com. |

I decided to cut out the center piece, but I'm leaving the wing mounted normally, on account of one of the crucial bolts having snapped off when I removed the wing. If I mount it Plumley style, I don't like the remaining support with only 3 bolts holding the wing in place. Regardless, I've filled in the holes from the center support and the trunk lid, and I just painted the whole car yesterday, though it still needs a bit of touch up work.
