Painting an MR2 - side molding

I am looking at getting my MR2 painted this summer. I am undecided if I will keep it white or go with a new color.

Should the side molding be removed if painting it white? I know ideally yes it should be, but it seems like that would be a PITA to do.

You can use tin foil (slide the foil behind the moulding) to prevent overspray and only paint the mouldings.
