trunk/engine lid N/A vs turbo
So here's the deal, the trunk lid on my turbo had a bit of rust, so I swapped lids with my N/A parts car. The problem is, that now I can't open the trunk with the engine lid all the way down with having contact issues. If i pop the ending lid, it will open with no contact at all.
My question is, are the N/A trunks the same size as the Turbo trunk lids? I can't imagine they wouldn't be. On a side note, I seem to recall that even with the original trunk lid, there was still a bit of contact between trunk at engine lid. I was just out looking at the mounting bolts, and neither one really has any (apparent) way of adjusting things. Maybe the engine lid is riding too low? Not sure. Any help would be appreciated. |

there should be a LITTLE bit of play in the mount bolts for the engine lid, just loosen all four and push it towards the window, if it goes any further, my engine lid did this after i dented the trunk lid, so i beat it with a mallet, either way i would try it

I loosened alll four of the engine lid bolts, and held it pretty much straight up. it doesnt want to go any further. All though I will say, the gap between trunk and windshield does look a little wider than I think it should.

shouldn't you be able to shove the engine lid a bit forward, and the trunk lid a bit back? I assume there should be a bit of play in the trunk lid mounting as well.
Oh and what the hell are "bagged S dimes"? |
