What kind of glue do they use for that stuff, anyhow? I'll be removing mine in the coming months to paint the hood, and will want to re-attach that sweet emblem...

I heard it's hard to remove the MKI emblem without breaking it. The MKI emblem has some kind of tab behind it I think.

This may be slightly off topic, but I love the emblem/mirror thingy in the beggining of this video.

When you buy a brand new emblem it already has the glue just peel the cover of it place it and stick it, and if you messed up, your screwed because it won't come back off....Now if you get a used one you need to buy the glue, I have no idea what its called but I'm sure you can get it at a local store.

I don't know if I would put it on, or make a hangy thing for my mirror.

I have seen 2 MkII with it removed, one of them is mine and the emblem is clipped on also. You will have two holes left, vertical with each other.

I personally like the look of the MK1 emblem more.. I've thought of putting it on my MKII before.. just not sure it would fit flush though.

Do many MkII people do that? I've considered it (as a former MkI driver), and think it would be a nice homage to the MkI.

I tried it before. Sits nicely in the front but the trunk just kills it...doesn't meet the curvature of the trunk but however can be put on the rear center panel in between the reverse lights.
