Camoflauge MKII???
im about to do a full engine bay re-spray of my v6 (3vz) MKII. i was originonally gonna go with championship white for the bay and car.
but lately ive been tossing around this idea of a rattle can camo job on the entire car. there is old suby 2.5rs rolling around with it on bronze STI rims and it looks damn good. i wanted to see what everyone thought of this idea or if anyone had ever done it before? heres a porsche with it. ![]() |

I'm on the fence about it. If it's done right then it will look good. By looking right it is going to need the right rims and a few other things. It's your car, do what you want with it.

I think it looks like crap no matter what car its on. The Lambo isn't too bad, but the Porsche and the MR2 look horrible. It would devalue your car too if you ever plan on selling it.

I say do what you like . . . The angular design on the (quite angular) Lambo looks decent. Maybe a similar color scheme with more fluid lines? Or a dark urban color scheme? Or like the "digital" type pattern the military is using now?

I wouldnt do it, it looks like some one started to do body work but never finished. I guess if its done rite maybe but it still just isnt rite for the car. Thats just my opinion.

I didn't post yesterday because I was still thinking about it... after mulling it over some I'm gonna say no because I think it would be tough to make it look right on the car... not saying it can't be done (personally I like both the Porsche and Lambo, but not the others), but it definately is a hit or miss paintjob... and most of them are a miss I think. The two I don't like definately aren't cleared... they other two might be (hard to tell on the Porsche especially, it may not be), and that could be my holdback. Honestly, it might look OK cleared, but I'm not sold on it totally.

the camo on the lambo may work on a mk1, but one thing to consider is what kind of theme your going to use?
Desert, Urban, Arctic, Jungle, ect |

Fack there was a sick Porsche RSR that was forsale in Seattle at M-Cars. it had an urban/arctic thing going on, it looked LOADS better than any other car I have seen, and i cannot find a picture to save my life!!! (M-Cars closed down)
Whoever raced the car (it was a full blown GT3 cup car) didn't camo the whole thing out. It was just the trim. Looked incredibly sick. I think it's gonna have to be about how well the paint flows with the rest of the car. I am not a fan of rattle can (which most camo jobs are). Even the ones that have a good layer of clear coat it might still be sketch. Maybe look into vinyl? I have thought about vinyl as well and I find that it is cheaper at first, but fades faster than paint. ![]() that rear center garnish is sex btw, i dont care if yall are 240 haters =P |

that vinyl job is garbage (or it was never maintained).
yes Vinyl is something that needs upkeep, most racecars you see have vinyl jobs (its ultimately cheaper to just replace that part of the car than it is to repaint or try to match paint on a busted panel) |
