A Man on a Mission

I know that this might not interest many of you, but for some it prolly will.

Just like how some people put V6's or in extreme cases put V8's in their car, or do other extreme engine or other mechanical mods to thier cars, I plan on pioneering a new venture in the "extreme" mod business.

I plan to begin custom making fiberglass, and apon request carbon fiber body parts for the MKI. I intend on redesigning the entire body style from the ground up for any body part that can be removed from the car. This would include trunk, frunk/hood, front and rear quarter panels/fenders, doors, spoilers, front and rear bumpers, running boards and ram-air intakes. I might not be the most mechanically inclined person on these forums, but i should be capable of replicating the original parts in FG or CF for those who want to lighten thier car for racing while maintaining the original look. But i also want to take away all the hard lines and give the body a more rounded and arrow dynamic look and feel.

My dilema is that i live in an appartment, so i cannot handle the resins and epoxies in such a confined area (i think its illegal anyways), or sit there and carve poly-eurothane foam in my livingroom. So i basically either need a fellow enthusiast, with or without experience in this, who owns property, preferably with a open or well ventilated shop, who wouldnt mind letting me use thier space to start experimenting (on my car). The trade off would be that if you wanted to make your own custom parts, or wanted any that i have designed, i would provide them at cost for materials only, which arent very expensive at all. And you wouldnt have to pay the rediculous shipping costs that often cost as much at the part itself and risk it breaking in shipping.

I know i might sound crazy, maybe not to some of you, but i would really like to get into this, and would provide these parts for Club Members at extrememly reasonable prices, with the lowest possible shipping costs available. Not to mention there isnt a whole lot of after market body mods available when compaired to other cars (newer ones). I also know that this isnt going to a profitable industry for the MR2 MKI, but it might lead to other mods for other cars, and i just want to do it for fun, and share the wealth with fellow Club Members.

So let me know if you are in the Virginia Beach area with a shop that i could use a little space in to work on making molds and body mods out of glass and carbon...

The alternative would be that i would have to try and rent my own shop somewhere, and that would increase the cost of the parts, making it more of a business then a hobby.

Thank you.

P.S.

I would also provide all my own tools and equipment, and would be able to help you mold the parts seamlessly onto your car (very sexy).
