1. 91 MR2 sunroof Turbo
2. Tein SuperStreet Coilovers 3. SSR Integral A2 16x7f (15.8lbs), 17x9r (@17.8lbs) +33/+38 4. 225/45-16f, 255/40-17r Yokohama AVS-ES100 on all 4 corners. 5. stock fenders 6. stock alignment 225s up front work fine on these coilovers. The trick is 7" front wheel widths and a slightly lower offset to clear (+33). Rear fenders were rolled ever so slightly by previous owner, they clear the 255s except for very large, high speed dips, minor rub. Suspension is set on full soft which also accounts for that. Suspension is firm, there is more control than with OEM suspension. Lots of suspension travel, springs are fairly stiff, shocks on full soft right now. Sits a bit too low for me, may raise it up about half an inch or so. Cornering is very sharp, little to no body lean, this makes it tough to predict breakaway point during drop-throttle oversteer situations. Very little dive or squat, controllability is excellent. Highway driving is very smooth, predictable. Pot holes aren't nice as with most coilover setups. 225s up front ![]() ![]() Last edited by RePete; 02-08-2010 at 12:35 PM.. So, I thought I'd done enough research, but I was a little wrong:
I * 92 MR2 Sunroof N/A * All stock suspension * Focal F16 16x7 +42 on all four corners * Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs 205-50-16 front and 225-50-16 rear * Haven't touched the fenders Unfortunately, this ended up rubbing a little. at full lock, the outer edge of the fronts rub against the rear of the fender well. It touches the plastic piece but not that nasty vertical piece of metal behind it (whew) Edit: it turns out only one of the fronts was rubbing, and it was because the castor arm mount was damaged and the wheel was sitting about 1/4 an inch further back than it should have. The other one has been fine. I think these might be the largest (front) wheels you can put on the car without any spacers/modifications whatsoever ![]() Last edited by Senkei; 01-29-2012 at 11:06 PM.. Reason: Update |

1993 turbo t-top
18 ssr 7.5 / 8 wide front and back, i think the offset is in the 30s. 225/30/18 F 255/35/18 in the back. Tein springs, and some blown tein struts. lol. I had to roll the fenders up front and shave the rears otherwise it would rub like crazy. Front had lots of camber, to the point that the inside of my front tires were bold and the outside of them brand new. ![]() ![]() Car is in an angle, the rears dont stick that much inside the fenders |
