Valve stem installation
So I bought some 5Zigen FN01RC's, and they came with these really cool valve stems. They're not the standard push through ones (although I have those too) but they're the screw-in type with grommets.
Should I put these on prior to taking them in to have tires mounted on them? And if so, should I finger tighten them and/or use threadlocker? I don't want them popping off, but I don't want them to be stuck on there forever... |

Well, apparently all it takes is to tighten the nuts with a wrench... no threadlocker or anything. At least that's what the tire shop guys did. And over a week later no leaks or problems. So good news

i work at a firesone and i specialise in aftermarket wheels and things like that. thos valve stems do not require thread locker. they will stay. just give them a torque every once in a while. should be either a 12 or a 13mm

when i used to work at les schwab we would just make sure they were tight, never had anyone come back to have their stems retightened, i mean you would have to take them off the car then tires off the wheel, seems like alot of work for something so minor, the rubber ones can become stiff and brittle after a long period of time, always replaced when new tires have been purchased, but metal ones are pretty much built to last, but in my opinion theres no need for it, and if you get nervous about them, then you can always resort back to the rubber stems and then get some chrome sleeves, which i have, and might I add they look pretty nice, inexpensive too
