Question for DavidV regarding rear strut bar

Hey David,
You obvioulsy have a ton of track experience with your mr2 and I'm sure by now you know what works and what doesn't. Anyways I noticed that you have the JIC rear cf strut bar. Ive got the same bar as well but only in the front. For the rear Im using the trd xbar. What Im wondering is if I replace my trd xbar with a cf JIC bar will I notice any additional flex or overall worsening of the vehicles handling. Any feedback would be great because Im sooo reluctant to get rid of my trd xbar.
Thank

- Ryan

I believe the TRD bars, front and rear, and some of the stiffest bars you can get. The design alone shows it. Most rear bars are only straight across where the TRD bar is an X.

Yes but are they too stiff? I've never driven the car hard without an xbrace so Im trying to get some feedback.

Hi Redlyne,

I've never had the TRD bar, I've only used the stock along with a Cusco OS brace. I can't say I personally noticed any difference with the downgrade to the JIC bar, but then I already had a cage, foamed chassis, etc.

Overall, I would stick with the TRD. It seems like the better design by far.

the one downfall of the TRD bar is the lack of adjustability like the GAB bar...

What kind of adjustments does the GAB bar offer? I never even heard of it.

Keith Lee had it on his car, you can adjust the tension on the sides:

I see. That was the only way I could think of besides some crazy shocks in it or something.

BTW, those are some nice IC pipes he has too. Any additional info on the pipes and or IC?

The pipes came with the Greddy intercooler. I had the stock pipe and the Greddy intercooler pipes ceramic coated. I also bought new silicon couplers and t-bolt hose clamps through Turbo Hoses. I thought that the blue couplers that Greddy supplied looked ghey.

I ended up selling the car to some kid in Long Beach. Has anyone seen my poor car? I always wondered what happened to her.
