doubtful. Your best bet would prob. be the TRD's. They wont feel mushy like some of the other's w/ low spring rates, but they wont be crazy high like others (rsr racing). A lot of it depends on your struts too, if you have stock struts w/ one of these aftermarket springs, or cheap-o replacements, you wont get a very good transition which will result in a bumpy/uncomfy/unpredictible ride.

I suggest TRD and Koni Yellows for a good stock replacement. A little more stiff, but not a whole lot.

I am about to purchase new springs as the Teins' are too low and make my car handle amazingly well but its just too stiff so its time to change to: these Tanabe Springs Sustec GF210,the price is $180.00 I was wondering if you thought if that was a good price and honest opinions of that as I plan to mate it with Koni Yellow Dampers opposed to mated it with the TRD springs if they may be cheaper and just as good than obviously I will go with that setup, anyway please give me all input as to what springs to buy between the two.

TRD Springs....

For the AE86, there are two kinds of TRD Springs, US Version(sucks bad), and the Japanese Version(Oh Yeah!). Is it the same for the MkII??? Are there any other kinds of TRD Springs for the MkII??

lol, yeah, specially here in L.A., some cop cars use the dodge charger'

back to TRD's...

so yeah, Because the TRD USA spring for the AE86 is the same thing with the Eibach Prokit for the ae86, that's why i was wondering if it's the same thing for the MR2, i saw that the Eibach pro and TRD SPrings that's posted has the same drop.

It doesn't look like the review buttons are working for me... I'll try again when I get home.

ok this may sound kinda stupid but im not sure so ill ask. the 93+ springs are already aprox 1in lower than the 91-92 (correct me if im wrong) so does that mean for the different drop heights we would need to subtract an inch off what is advertised or will it drop the car the advertised height plus the extra inch from them being a 93+ car. i want to drop my car a little further but there is no sense spending over 200 bucks on lowering springs if they wont do anything.

teins are super stiff one of the stiffest you can get I think mine was so stiff it caused me to break an axle however the handling and performance is amazing, if the 93 height is said to be the same as the 91-92 than its probably an error just subtract one inch from a 91-92 height and thats what you get a nice stance on the car throw some wheels on it and you look good

H&R Springs with Koni Yellows...stiff yet solid. Not uncomfortable for daily driving, but roads that are pothole ridden aren't fun. However, that's nothing a little pre-emptive lane changing or braking can't handle

Stock 93 Ride Height

H&R Ride Height

It looks slammed in the rear (so I've been told)...maybe I'll take a better pic later when I'm not so lazy...

bought them from a board member a long time ago for like 170 shipped give or take I prefer the tanabe or trd to be honest but if you really want them check on the fs posts and ebay it will pop up for cheap sooner or later.

Does anyone definitively know the difference in ride height between the '92 and '93 MR2s? I thought I read a long time ago that there was a 1/2" difference but some people in this thread said 1". Both cars are listed at 48.6" in height and the newer tires only have a 0.2" larger diameter. That should only raise the car 0.1" so theoretically there's only a 0.1" difference in the ride height with equal tires.

I'm hoping to find out exactly how much RSR springs would lower my '93 MR2. RSR says that their springs are designed to lower the car 1"-2". In this thread it says that they lower the car 0.8"-1.0". Is that for the older ones or the newer ones?

Does anyone know the spring rate for the 93+ springs? Looked for a while and all I found was this on MR2oc...

Can anyone verify if this is correct? I felt like the spring rate should be a little higher since the springs are visibly an inch shorter (I did a side by side comparison with 91 springs).

H & R and Tein Springs on Koni Yellows

Which is a better setup?

H & R's/Koni Yellows

Tein/Koni Yellows

Also, which is stiffer among the combinations. Thanks!
