Front/Rear, Telling Koni's Apart

Hey, my Koni Yellows just arrived in the mail today and I can't seem to figure out which pair of struts go in front, and which go in rear. There is a noticeable difference in length (possibly 1-1.5 cm) and both tubes have "gas" stamped on them. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for removing the two 19mm nuts and bolts affixing the strut housing to the axle assembly?

Also, if anyone happens to have any gland nuts or housings that they aren't using, hit me up and we can talk.

A long breaker bar, and some muscle
Usually you can just loosen the nut without holding a socket on the other end. If the bolt spins however, then you'll need another breaker bar to keep the bolt from spinning. If you need some more access you can turn the steering wheel to angle the spindles in a more convenient way.

Yeah, I got a breaker and cheated it with another foot and a half of pipe. I got the struts in, but when I went to bleed the brakes, I sheared the bleed nipple off the front driver's side caliper. Now I need to find a way to remove it and get a new bleed valve.

Gonna jack my thread real quick. I got everything installed, but now when I steer, the front left strut makes a thump noise. This is caused by the top spring seat not rotating, holding the spring, making it slide against the bottom seat, jumping the ridge in it. I'm not sure how to get the top seat to rotate. Is this caused by the strut mount/bearings?

possibly that's what it sounds like to me...did you replace the mounts when you replaced the struts? if not then that may be your issue...

Well, today the issue went away, the top spring seat now turns. I regreased the bearings when I installed them, so the grease probably worked it's way in. Either way, I don't seem to have an issue at the moment.
