16's and 17's

Is there any problem with running 16's up front and 17's out back. I know most people run the same size all around. I found some wheels that are staggered if i run different sizes. here is what i am looking at: 16X7 +40 up front with 205/45/16 and 17X8 +35 out back with 215/40/17. would this be an alright set up? I believe I have the lower H&R springs with KYB struts.

I'd run 16x7 +35 205/45/16
and 17x8 +35 225/40/17

235/40 17 out back will give you more tire choices.

I would prefer an 8.5, but it fits an 8 fine.

I'd stick with the 205/45 16 front, once again for tire choices.

If you want to start talking optimal, get tire manufactures to make more 16" tire sizes and get wider wheels front and rear.
