17X8 and 18X8

17X8 +40 and 18X8 +40 will this work if i stagger the tire sizes? maybe a 215/40 up front and 235/40 out back? Will this set up clear my struts? Thats the biggest question as i plan on rolling the fenders anyway and will pull them a little if necessary.

i would prob go with either 16 up front and 17 back or 16 and 18 for a real staggered look

if your putting 18 on the back you might as well make them 18x9

16x8 and 18x9 with a little less offset on the back to maker them stick out would make it look awesome

Mmmm well I have 17x7 and 17x9
and my tires are 215/40 front and rears are 255/45 so if u do 18 at the back it will work lol and 17 for the front and have the same tire configuration well it will work...

17x8 +35 with 215/40/17 is flush.. or in most peoples eyes is flush.

So, get a 5mm spacer..

18x8 +25 is flush, but I'm not quite sure you can fit a 245/40/18 or if there is a 245/35/18 tire.. I would try and get 18x9 and fit a 255/35/18 with a +37 or so.. and do some fender rolling with a rolling tool.

You could do a +20 rear.. but you would have to have an alignment shop, preferebly a performance oriented alignment shop to dial in some negative camber in the back which requires crash bolts that are $25-$50 for two bolts!

It really depends on what tire sizes you are wanting too. I like the 17/18 setup, that is what I have on my 93t.. but I have 17x7.5 front and 18x9 in the back.

sounds like i should try 17X8 + 40 with a 5mm spacer up front and 18X8 + 20 with camber. maybe 215/40 up front and 235/35 out back? will i clear the struts? Will my lip be bigger on the front if i run +40 up front and + 20 out back? that would look really weird.

Lip will be bigger on the lower offset wheels.. For instance, a +20 offset lip will be bigger than a +40 offset. But, sometimes it depends on the wheels too... there probably won't be that much of a difference front should always have less lip.

I don't know if you can get 235/35/18's.. it's hard to say that it would clear.. but you can make that work no matter what with a minor roll and negative camber, or one or the other, or both.. you see what I mean.

your doing it wrong...if you want the double stager look get 17x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear.
17x8 and 18x8 is not a stagered set up. Its just a taller look in the rear.
Also a '40' side proflie maybe too tall, go for the next size down, a 35.

the wheel only comes in 1 width. i thought about going 35 out back. the 18 would fill the fender well better than a 17. i dont want to get 17X8 all around. they only come in +40 or +20 offsets.

17x8 +40 front with 205/40 17 or 215/40 17 ........... no clearance issues whatsoever. 5mm spacer if you want to be flush.

18x8 +40 rear ....... screws up the % track width front to rear since it's just like running a non staggered setup. no clearance issues whatsoever. 235/35 18 or 245/35 18.

18x8 +20 rear ....... not as wide as I'd want, but you don't have that option. will need roll and possibly a little pull. same tires as above. this is effectively a staggered setup because of the large offset change. Do this since you don't mind rolling/pulling.

Getting wheels with a wider rear is still the best option.

Lip is probably the same size, regardless of offset since they're cheap wheels (I assume due to the limited sizing). If anything is bigger, the lower offset wheels will have a larger lip.
