Yeah, I already looked at the site. They don't look like a joke or anything. And I've never seen a $100 coilover set. The cheapest coilovers I've seen were almost $800. But from the (as far as I can tell) good companies, the kits are around $1500 - $2000.
Basically, I need something that will very tightly control all body motion in a linear manner. Meaning, high spring rates and high dampening rates. Would you happen to know anything about their autocross-oriented coilovers? |

Oh I'm definitely getting swaybars and polyurethane mounts, in addition to some strut tower braces and a full rollcage.
I'm gonna fab up the strut tower braces myself actually, I'm gonna use some forged aluminum stock. |

EMSpowered has some good stuff....im also running with t-tops so thats always fun lol

Yeah I've got t-tops. That's half the reason I want a rollcage. I rolled my first car at 70MPH, and I'm lucky the passenger side of the roof collapsed instead of the driver side. And it was a hardtop. I don't like to think about what would happen with t-tops in a rollover situation.

devind56, have you read this IMOC thread on D2s?
MR2 Owners Club Message Board™ I was interested in buying D2s but this thread really put me off. |

If there's enough interest in the KSPorts we can do a group buy at a deep discount.

KSport coilovers
Actually I could quote a Import Tuner magazine article, if i could find the dam thing in my stacks of them LOL. That totally trashes Ksport coilovers. All rated different dampening rates on each strut of the set of 4. They used Tein in the track lap time tests.

Take what you read in magazines with a grain of salt. Especially if they're comparing various brands. A lot of times those studies are sponsored (aka paid for) by one of those vendors.

doesn't always mean it's pure bunk or radically slanted towards the "sponsor" either.

Has anyone tried BC Racing Coilovers on their SW20? They're pretty popular in the land of Subaru's and I ran a set for about a year. I was impressed with their ride, handling and construction quality relative to other coilovers in the same price range (Megans, KSports). I only took them off because they're damped/sprung for auto-x or track driving depending on which damper you get.
I may give them a go on my MR2 when I get around to the suspension. I've been though a lot of suspensions and BC's are the only setup I'd ever buy again besides Ground Control Coilovers and Koni Inserts... |

I've heard good things about BC Racing, but I forgot about about them until you mentioned them. I'll have to look at them.
What kind of spring rates would be optimal for autocrossing? |

I notice that AST at least lists stuff for our cars now... been impressed with them on other cars but that doesn't always translate (goes for alot of mfg's actually). When the money tree sprouts a few more $$$ I'm planning on using my '91 as a test bed to work the bugs out of some coilover setups before I transfer the one that works best over to the race '94
