    OEM Tire Pressure

    Hey guys, my rear tires looked deflated this morning. I tried searching up how much pressure there is suppose to be , I don't have an owners manual either. My dad said to fill them up to 40 psi, I think this is too much though. Does anybody know what they are suppose to be for the front and back?

    Rear - 225/50-15
    Front - 195/55-15

    It should say right in your glove box. I keep mine around 33, maybe slightly lower pressure up front (I run a 50 section tyre in the front). You can inflate the tyre to 90% of the maximum listed on the sidewall and you'll be safe. You can play around with pressures for comfort and grip as well.

    29/31 is stock I believe. If you are running low profile tires you should bump it up a little bit like 32/34

    OEM = 29F AND 33R.

    I run 31F and 34R in my 215/40 x 17F and 235/40 x 17R ('92 NA) - handles GREAT.

    Don't forget the OEM chassis is designed for staggered wheel set up and the rearward weight bias requires increased pressures in the rear.

    don't go by the OEM inflation.. go by your tire's recommendation, then make sure the rear is +3-4 PSI higher with the same tire type.

    and where do you find that? On the sidewall? thats the maximum pressure, and definitely where you *don't* want to be. 40psi is way way way too high for a cold tire pressure for street tires.

    the OEM numbers are a good starting point, as would going up a few PSI if you're on a larger diameter wheel / lower profile tire.

    look on the site of the tire manufacture, they have recommended pressure.

    Kbrew, you didn't know that tire manufacturers test their tires on 20 year old MR cars?

    Wow another reason why my car didn't feel right...the toe, cast camber and everything was so off and not similar to the other side!
    My brother took my car to school today, and they lifted up the car and did alignments and found this out. Also, while they were checking on my tire rods, my inner AND outer tie rods seized in the front!
