Horrible wheel related buying experience! ><

Okay here goes my story:

I ordered a set of CE28Ns from AutoRnD, well that went well, Mackin sent me the wheels in 3 months like AutoRnD said, but I also ordered a set of Rays duralumin lugnuts in blue with them.

I know AutoRnD ordered the lugnuts for me but AutoRnD told me when they got the invoice for the wheels that the lugnuts were not listed. So I thought "okay I can wait and have them ship it to me separately". WRONG. A few days later AutoRnd tells me "Mackin only has Red ones". I really want the blue ones so I thought "it's only gonna take a little while". For a whole month I kept on trying to get an update on things and AutoRnd says Mackin has been an @$$ about ETAs. Okay so I got a little impatient and emailed Mackin myself. Without apology they just told me they usually come every 4 months and didn't tell me when the last shipment was so I couldn't estimate when they'll be. So I asked them again, but they just said "if I know ETA I'd tell you but I don't have the ETA yet". So okay I was being positive, thinking that they next time autornd or mackin replies it'll be sth like "okay we have it so we're gonna ship to you"

Today Mackin replys with 2 simple words "eta JULY"

It's expected that I wait 3-4 months for volking racing rims, but to wait 1/2 year or more for a set of lugnuts is unheard of.

I would have been much more pleased if AutoRnD just got a set from someplace else and sent it to me, but instead they just tell me they can't do anything about it?!

AutoRnD has great prices I admit, but they could have handled the situation a bit better. and Mackin... well they're just being a bitch because they exclusively import these things.

I was gonna recommend people on this forum and my friends to shop AutoRnD but because of Mackin and the poorly handled situation I don't know if I should anymore

Arthur

From a retailers standpoint, I would have to put the blame on Mackin, not AutoRnD. Its completely out of AutoRnD's hands if Mackin does not or cannot send them the lug nuts, how can they send them to you?

If Mackin for whatever reason is lagging on the lug nuts, then its their fault. Just buy something else.

AutoRnD is a good place, but if you guys wanna buy stuff from them, go through me instead I'm one of their distributers and can get much cheaper prices than what they will sell to h public for.

but I'm AutoRnD's customer, and they should have done something about getting the item to me first and deal with mackin later. Mackin and AutoRnD disappoints me.

i agree....he didn't buy from mackin, he bought from autornd...that's the way the cookie crumbles... they should have offered a refund on the product and/or a healthy discount on the next purchase...nobody likes to hear excuses, just rectify the situation

Did you ask for a refund? If they deny a refund, then AutoRnD is wrong. But if you never asked them, what do you want them to do? If Mackin doesn't send them something, how are they supposed to send it to you if they don't even have it?

For example, if I wanted to buy an MR2 from my local dealer, but they don't have any. And they cannot get any, I can't blame them. How can they sell me something they don't have? They have to get it from the dealer, (ie. Mackin). So if Mackin doesn't supply it, they can't give it to you.

how about if the dealer sells the MR2 even though they don't have any on hand? that is a more accurate scenario and they are to blame....he shouldn't have had to ask for a refund...they should realize the problem and try to rectify the situation on their own...it's their job to come up with a solution to make the customer happy, it's not the customer's job...that's what we call "customer service"

You do have a point. But lets as the buyer. Did AutoRnD ever offer you a refund? Did you ever ask for a refund, and if so what was their response?

I'm just trying to say, as a buyer its easy to point fingers at everyone else and put blame on other people. But once you've been in a similar situation, its easier to understand where everyone is coming from and not be so quick to point fingers.

I'm a retailer, and a lot of times I am not supplied with parts as promised. Its not my fault the manufacturer couldn't hold up their end of the deal and it makes me look like an ass.

He asked for a refund and is getting it so he can get them elsewhere, afaik.

I would think Rishie was insanely cool if he'd sourced them from another retailer and sent them at a loss, but I certainly don't expect it or think it's necessary.
