MB Wheels...any experiences??

I'm looking for rims for my widebody, I'm 'ballin on a budget' , I found these from Discount Tire. Just not sure if any of the offsets they have would work with a widebody, and I don't want some POS that's going to crack with the first pothold I hit...I live in Atlanta, so it's a weekly occurance .

I've been considering the following:
comp http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...tpc=MBMCOM&tp=
drifter http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...tpc=MBMDRI&tp=
rev http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...tpc=MBDREV&tp=

...anyone ever ran this companies rims, heard anything about them??

Never heard of them, but they are pretty good looking and inexpensive.

A-Tech makes the competition and weapon ......... discount tire just labels them as mb and puts in a diff centercap. Good quality for the price. Couple friends have the weapon.

Liquid Metal makes the drifter, not sure about the Rev model. Drifter is actually pretty light iirc, around 20 lbs for the 18x9 I was considering at one point for my taco.

you know if any of the offsets listed would work for a widebody??? or what would be the best for the smallest spacers if not...

drifter has the best setup for a widebody on a budget I think.

18x8.5 +28 front and 18x9.5 +15 or +25 for the rear just depending on what look you want.

awesome..., can "someone" (haha) explain how the +15 and +25 would differ?? i've tried to grasp this offset concept but i'm more of a visual learner and i can understand whats going on in the pictures in the write-up...i'm under the impression that +15 is a lower offset than +25, +15 would be flush and +25 would be a slight tuck (or tuckable with spacers or something)...is that right???

i'd like flush but i've heard that on just lowering springs that i'd need a slight tuck...i just don't know which is which.
sorry for all the questions paalo, i know i've sent you many-a-pm's about all this before...hopefully this will be the end of it all...i'm wanting to get these for graduation but i want to keep the spacers to a minimum if not avoid them all together....

the drifters were accually one of the sets I liked as well, but I think I gave up on them because I thought the widest they made was a 7 incher. Now I see they make them wider, but in 18"... would those fit on a 93 turbo with about a 1-1.5 inch drop? what offset would I need, and whats the widest I would fit? I want an 8 or wider in the rear if possible. I'm planning in upgrading the turbo, and want to be able to keep the wheels from spinning.

The guy at discount tire said the computer showed an 8" as being the largest that could fit stock...no clue on the offset for that though. I'm on a 1.6" drop all the way around, yesterday I fit an 18x9.5 with no problem but it was also in a widebody offset, I'm sure this cleared up a little more room than normal. I'm new to MR2's, I'm sure one of the vets around here can give you a lot more info, just off the top of their head.

...and from the looks of it the comps don't come with a center cap, but paalo also said that they are the same wheel but with a different center cap...but i had no experience with them so honestly i have no clue.

imweip, answered you in your other post, didn't mention that 9.5 +45 is optimal for widest possible though since the 9.5 +49 offered for the drifter would rub suspension with a 275 and isn't offered in the correct pcd anyway.

chuck, sorry I didn't see this earlier, but if you like the way the 25 looked then you're all set anyway. 15 would be closer to the fenders, but taking the safe route with that much bodywork and no coilovers to help clearance if necessary is probably wise.
a wide tire setup would be 245/35 18 up front which may not clear the spring perch and may chew up fenders and 275/35 18 in back which may chew up fenders.
conservative and a little stretched would be 225/35 18 up front and 255/35 18 in back.

well i found a killer deal on a set of like new 245/40-18's...my stock 1/4 panel has already been cut back, does anyone know if that's where the rubbing happens or if its actually in the wheel well itself?? i'm sure the taller skinnys won't perform as well as a 255/35 but for the price alone i'd rather go with them, i just don't want it to be where the car doesn't move because it's just chassis on tire, haha
