Anyone build a custom sub box (maybe 8incher?) inbetween the seats? I dont want to put a box behind the seats, because i wont have anywhere for my T-Tops, so I was thinking of a box, Dodge Viper esque.
heres an idea: ![]() also, what are the specs on the stock center console compartment thing that i see some people with? i dont have one. ![]() |

Shaun M Subwoofer boxes still retain enough space behind the seat to put your t-tops back there.

same reason i dont want TMIC, my tops go in back trunk.
amprack is under hood in front. (weight added up front seems to help initial understeer) 1, 10" image dynamics IDQ behind each seat. cut the storage compartment down some .65 cu.ft. box fits nice. also im 6',4" tall and boxes have no real effect on my comfort. seat still goes to the wall as for center console seen lambo's and other various cars use this style box speaker selection for this is going to be very important magnet and basket size. aswell as how much air space does it need |

somewhere around $50-60 before shipping.... plus I'd be tuning it to the specific FS of your sub so it would be a dead on tuned box. and if you want to do it his way, you mind as well do it the way I'd be doing it in my MR2. check out the speaker review thread for info about what I'd be doing.

If your really gonna do that i would suggest a Kicker cvt 8 in a sealed box because that design wouldn't allow for much airspace.

Sorry to tell you but actually na the cvt is good and for the amount of airspace your gonna have with that enclosure yu might as well ckuz i can't see you getting anymore than .25cf out of that.
Also you rarely ever tune a box to the the same frequency as the sub. |

--SoundSolutionsAudio.com Online Store-- - AA Assassin Series 8"D4
to be exact... I used to own two of the older ones and ran the pair on 1000W RMS and it sounded great ported. but 250W RMS to this specific sub sealed is orgasmic. |

Where that center console storage box goes no mutha lovin way after all the displacements... I wanna see your plan on this. Yes I agree the Assassins are nice subs but i fail to see them requiring a smaller box then the cvt.

Yeah that the other sub i would recommend though he seemed as if he wanted an 8. To the original poster though i would go with one sub behind the passenger seat in the biggest box possible and just store your tops behind the driver seat.

Idk about 2 cubes the most i've gotten out of a design is 1.78 and that was before the displacements of the port n sub so i got like 1.41 net.

unless your sub can go below 2.cuft. ported
i will be posting all pics of my car soon ported in same cab as you can sound crappy due to port noise in a trunk or Hb this is not as big of factor (ported is louder) but well not play as deep of a tone as sealed on the other hand sealed well need more power to get near same results always wondered how a underhood (front subbox) would sound as for airspace my boxes are .65 .70 cuft. as i am very tall this had to be the limit as far as sound quality alot of plastic poly subs dont have best sound depends on music prefernce rap, and boom boom boom music can be played on these subs. but if like anything with bass guitar i good sub like IDQ is in order as it takes .5 to 1cuft. sealed can play as low as 12HZ of course you cant here that low, but its good to know however my system will bang its ass off if i want it to just not to worried about that at this age i have built a number of boxes in my time (wood and fiberglass) but this system in ? was done by soundwaves in bartlett TN. about 7 years ago only thing i have changed or would change is i would get soft dome tweeters instead of titanium (very harsh sounding) and would not have bought pioneer head unit with all the pretty colors and chrome knobs on it getting a alpine or (what i have know) an eclipse is best bet for sound quality and volting output should always be main concern when buying head unit crap radio can easily f*#k up a good system |
