I have heard good things about them if amped appropriatly. Obviously not going to hit like a 10'' sub, but should be plenty unless you're looking for some insane bump.

Ya, usually a head unit wont be able to amp 2 of em very well. You could get a 4-channel amp and power the fronts and the subs w/ it I believe.

get a 4 channel amp, power your front speakers with channels 1&2 and bridge 3&4 for the sub. just make sure you take a DMM to your gains so you won't overpower anything.

I put a pair of these in my 93. Driving them with the OEM premium sound system. They sound pretty damn good, especially considering the price. I did try temporarily driving them with a borrowed 2 channel, 65W/channel amp, and they really sounded good then. When I upgrade my head unit I'll go with the additional amp.

I aslo have two of these in my car with an aftermarket amp. Man, they sound really good. I did not want any sub boxes behind the seats.

depends upon install quality, box design, power, etc. seems to be a great driver series. check out videos of Tang Band subs on R.O.E.

so what you guys are saying is that the TANG BAND subwoofers won't do me any good running off the stock amps?
i have an alpine head unit wired using a metra harness. 2 6.5" kickers in the door and 2 4" focals in the middle. i need to get new subwoofers for my stock location. i was hoping tang band, but if they don't thump off my stock amps, i'm better off just getting some 5.25" midbass woofers off ebay that'll fit in the box. any opinions? i don't want an aftermarket amp and i don't want to put a box behind any seats. |

they will be better then most 5.25" woofers. and any woofers won't be louder, it's the same power. bottom line is, they will sound good stock, but great with power.

they will sound good stock, but will the tang bands sound BETTER than stock bass? and when i say sound better, i mean thump equal to or even louder than stock.

I meant on stock power, stock power tangbands will be better then stock powered stock subs, but I mean stock power tangbands will sound good, amp'd will sound great.
